HYDROSEEDING AND MULCHING

Hydroseeding involves spreading seed and appropriate nutrients on the disturbed soil surfaces. Seed types vary depending upon specification and/or the type of job. We can assess the needs of our customers and recommend seed mixes for their particular project. Materials are mixed with water and kept in slurry form in the hydroseeder tank. They are then applied via a turret mounted on top of the hydroseeder or through an extension hose in the case of home lawns or inaccessible areas. In order to be successful, the seeds must be kept in place and remain moist. This can be accomplished by mulching with hay mulch or fiber mulch.

Hydroseeding home lawns is generally accomplished with a hydroseeder extension hose. Our operators have been trained in the correct application of materials and in the methods to avoid overspray on landscape beds, etc. Cellulose fiber mulch is used together with the appropriate materials.

Hydroseeding a commercial site or other larger areas is usually accomplished by spraying appropriate materials via the hydroseeder turret. If cellulose fiber is not used, the areas are mulched with hay and finally, the hay is glued in place to prevent wind shifting and water movement.
